Dennis Coffey
This is the Gibson Firebird Guitar Dennis Coffey used on most of his sessions. He purchased this guitar used in Detroit in 1964, and is his best all around session guitar. Coffey also used a Guild Electric while recording with Del Shannon and the Royaltones. The distortion device he used for "Move It On Over" was a loosened tube in an amp at Bell Sound. The engineer tried to filter it out initially, not knowing it was intentional.
